Snowmageddon, 2012

From beauty.....

to devastation in a few short hours:

We had a very bad ice storm the day after our huge snow storm that the weather forecasters did not see coming and so we had no warning to prepare.  We were without power for 48 hours, trying to stay warm with our little fireplace meant for ambiance and not survival heat.  After a day and a half, my parents house had power so we spent the night there. I was so thankful to get warm! It got down to 51 degrees inside the house before the power was restored early this morning!  What an ordeal.  What a devastating mess to clean up!

Oh, I hate seeing the trees damaged, but at least you are all OK! Good stitching weather!

Looks like my son-in-law would have his work cut out for him over there!

Glad things are settling down now. Read on facebook that your furnace wasn't kicking in. Did you put a new thermostat in? Hope that's the problem!
